15 SELF CARE TIPSSomething a lot of use tend to lack is... SELF CARE! During this break due to the Corona outbreak I have been trying new things to help me keep a positive mind, as well as keeping myself on my toes. Here are some of my tips for you.... 1.Disconnect from all the noise! It is very important to be up to date with the news, but at the same time you can only handle so much panic specially on social media. There is absolutely no harm in staying updated but after a while fear can be created from constantly looking it up, and seeing it in your feed. Put the phone down for a few disconnect and bring some positive thoughts back into your mind! 2.Put on a cozy playlist!Music heals, and during this time of stress and panic its proven that music can calm you down. SO put on your favorite playlist and listen to your tunes. For more of a relaxing time i highly suggest using spa music, specially if you have to sit and do work for hours! 3.JournalOne of my favorite things to do is sit down and write out my thoughts. This is very healthy for your mind because you are able to think things out, notice the toxic thoughts going through your mind. Its great to help out with all of the emotions going on. You could also us journaling as creating ideas and jotting down things you want to accomplish. 4. Online ClassesSomething new to a lot of us right now is homeschooling. Im loving it! It is fun to be able to go at your own pace and get everything over with. I have created a schedule that helps me stay on track and get done faster. Just like a typical school day, I go to my 1st period class and look at all the things I need to accomplish and then just keep working my way down that list. 5.Clean and OrganizeWe all have that one closet in the house that we all want to tackle down but "never have the time" too clean... Well ladies and gentle men, now is your time to get going. A nice clean room helps open the mind and calms you down because you won't be living in a cluster. Wiping everything down is also a very important thing to do at this time to help reduce the risk of you catching the beast. (Beast=CORONA) 6.Relax//MeditateOne great way to help keep your body and mind in check is to meditate. At first it is not easy, there is a whole process behind it. Be patient and just keep trying because it will help you feel grounded and peaceful in your inner world. 7.EXERCISEThis is something that has been probably the most beneficial to myself right now. Working out helps relieve stress, so anytime I get stressed out I will go talk a walk outside and just get into my thoughts and think of ways on how to handle these situations. As the beautiful Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen says... #TakeTen 8.Do some readingReading will help get your mind off of things. Dive into a new, old, funny, uplifting book. Help free your mind of thoughts and get deep into your book! 9.Practice a new hobbyIt could be a old hobby that you never had the time to do, or even a new one that you have always wanted to try! Get creative and have some fun. One of my favorite things to do is cook and i have many of my grandmothers old recipes that I have wanted to try to make myself. Well now I have the time to pull those bad boys out and get whisking! 10.Learn a new languageTo grow your mind even more try a new language. I have always wanted to learn how to sign and now i have countless days to learn. You will never know, maybe one day you will use that language for something! 11.Feel Good TVCorona has taken over the Tv, which is ok but make sure you filter you brain with something else. It could be from a comedy show or a documentary. Find something that will make you happy, inspire you, or make you laugh. 12.Enjoy Cooking at homeI don't know about you guys but I am constantly on the go meaning I never really have the chance to have a nice HOME MADE MEAL!! Cooking can be very therapeutic as well as being really fun. Plus its also healthier for you to eat at home as well. 13. BATHEYou know that bath bomb you have sitting in the bathroom that you have been dying to use but haven't had the time too... Welp get the candles burning, and that bath running because now you have time to sit back and relax! 14.Indulge in skin careClean and freshen up your skin. Remove all that extra dirt and stress from your skin. Nourish your skin and remove all the negative toxins you might carry with you and just love yourself. 15.Follow your heartMaybe some of these tips you want to try, but don't force yourself to do something if you truly don't want to. Just because it may have worked for me doesn't mean it will for you. You don't need to make a list of all the list you want to do, instead do what your heart wants. Don't feel forced or pressured to do anything, just keeping moving on with life because you never know what tomorrow beings Thank you so much for reading and checking this post out! I plan on doing more of these just to help you guys out. Let me know if any of these tips worked for you, I would love to hear your feed back. Make sure you check me out on insta @missromesot2020, and on Facebook I will be going live once a week and read some of my favorite kindness stories. But until next time I wish that your safe and healthy, and remember to wash your hands!!

I am so excited to say that we have teamed up with Beyond the Differences to help promote their message of social isolation. On February 14 join me in wearing purple to show support. Also make sure that no one is eating alone at lunch.
For some lunch is their favorite time because it is time to hang out with friend. While others hate lunch because they feel like they have no one. Beyond the Differences created this day to help make sure that no child is eating alone, and ask that if you see someone by themselves to go up and sit with them. You never know they might become your best friend. No one ever deserves to feel worthless or alone. It is up to you to make a change ans help not only impact their life but yours For more information visit .nooneeatsalone.org Happy New Year everyone!!
As we all sit down to make our new goals for 2020 and get pumped for the new decade I just wanted to touch on something. Believe it or not, I'm still writing my article about the conference in November and as I am writing this I noticed one thing! Almost every speaker talked about EMPATHY!! One word, 7 letters, and this simple word is something the society needs more of. Maybe if we started showing more EMPATHY to each other, and looked at things from a different PERSPECTIVE we wouldn't have to worry about ways to end bullying. So I have a goal for you to add to your list... SHOW MORE EMPATHY TO OTHERS!! Make the change start with, challenge yourself this year and make it your new habit. Also, start looking at things from a different perspective! Goals Since the conference in Chicago I have been fired up with so many ideas and plans! I am excited to start a new series to The Be Nice Program which is having a book of the month. Since Spookley was such a huge hit and was so much fun to travel around with I wanted to keep this going. Decembers friend is Sparky and to learn more about him list the Book of the Month page. My goal with Sparky is to read to every elementary school in my county and also read to several other organizations. If you would like me to read at your school and organization please email me at [email protected] because I would love to stop by!
I have so many other plans I am trying to do but I am going to use that surprise tool to help us later! OMG! I am so excited to say that we raised a little over $250 to PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center!! Thank you so much to those who ordered a shirt from me, but also thank you to those who participated in UNITY DAY 2019. |
